Commentary

A human being’s surroundings, his upbringing, and all other influences are deciding for the way he acts and behaves. But also what happens in the womb. Does the mother smoke, does she drink, is she fine? And what’s before that? I think of the mother, because she is the one that passes on life through her womb. I also think of the father, up to the time in which they live. Is the grown-up man good enough? No. We have to fix him. Wouldn’t it be better if it didn’t come this far in the first place, making us deal with something that doesn’t work well?

Shouldn’t we start with a good build-up right from the beginning? We mind the moment when impregnation happens, and nowadays we also mind family planning. We always believe in a good development, even in those cases where there's no reasonable chance for a good development at all, and we always do this without even asking ourselves what result we really want to achieve. Nobody asks the child if it wants to be born into this world.

If it comes to a bad result, we have to fix, create laws, fill prisons, and endure wars. Wouldn’t it be smarter to ponder beforehand if and why someone should reproduce? Is our reasoning for bearing children, which we have in our modern community, really right?
