This portrait is drawn in a commercial manner that comes very close to reality. It is kind of old-fashioned and cheesy but also very beautiful and something different than merely a photo. It is personal and unique. This kind leaves the artist very little freedom and deprives him of nearly everything distinct and artistic. It can rather be considered as a well mastered handiwork. In other words, it is simply a commission with the objective of resemblance and - from the client’s point of view - a claim to beauty that the artist has been bound to fulfill. In spite of that, and according to the price, one mustn’t expect more than it is. A Mona Lisa it neither is nor can be - only a certain way that leads there.
